Everyone can learn photography - especially YOU!
Yes! You’ve ticked all the boxes because you’re a girl who purchased a camera, hoping to capture your world in unique photos and you’re here hoping to find solutions to reach your photography goals.
Now all you need is to learn the skills required to reach them.
Like all girls, you’re probably busy organising and running your corner of the world, so I imagine you don’t want to master photography the long and hard way and that you would prefer quick and easy-to-understand methods instead.
Look no further; the online workshop “A Girl with a Camera - Learn Photography in 21 Days” will give you exactly that!

What and how you will learn
In “A GIRL WITH A CAMERA”, you’ll become THE Girl with a Camera. In 21 easy-to-understand-no-nonsense lessons, you’ll be guided through the process of mastering photography.
Once you’ve completed the 21 lessons, you’ll be able to capture any kind of photo, and they’ll all be jaw-droppingly good.
Please note: that you DO NOT have to finish the course in 21 days, you can take as much time as you like.
The workshop is a must for any woman who can’t wait to improve her photography and would love to use it to express her personality.
Is that you?
Then this is what you can expect:
Before the learning experience begins, we’ll delve into a couple of basics:
Day 0: Equipment:
I’ll introduce you to the few pieces of equipment that I use for all my photos. You’ll be surprised to see how little you’ll need to create similar results.
Day 0: Setting up your Camera:
When you look at your camera’s manual, you’ll be overwhelmed by the mass of features. I’ll introduce you to the settings you need (a lot less than you think) and help you set up your camera for success.
Day 1: Focusing:
The Aha-Moment: After completing this lesson you’ll know HOW to select the best subject in the scene to have in focus and HOW to get them tack-sharp.
Day 2: Blurry Backgrounds:
The game changer. You’ll learn HOW to set up your camera and capture beautiful blurry backgrounds or include out-of-focus elements in the foreground for a more interesting look.
Day 3: Understanding Subjects:
Clarity. After this lesson, you’ll know how to set the scene for your photos, why some settings will never work and how to ensure the main motif is the focus of every viewer’s attention.
Day 4: Scenes:
The Sky’s the Limit. The world is full of beauty. BUT also full of boring scenes. In this lesson you’ll learn how to turn boring scenes into works of art.
Day 5: When to Walk Away:
Confidence. In the previous lessons you learned how to set the scene for your photos. In this lesson you’ll learn which subjects are best left to enjoy with the naked eye and not necessarily in photos.
Day 6: position:
From Amateur to Professional. With the guides in this lesson, you’ll transform your photos from boring- to professional by knowing how to position yourself and hold the camera to capture your scenes and subjects. Covering: Everyday scenes inside and outside the home, people in portraits and groups, animals, flowers and buildings.
Day 7: The professional look:
Combine what you’ve learned in week one to create photos that make people’s jaws drop.
Day 8: Introducing Light:
Light is the artist’s Brush for the photographer. In this lesson, you’ll learn to recognise best light for photography - and distinguish between good and bad lighting situations.
Day 9: Enhancing the main Subject with Light:
You’ll learn the first simple methods to use light to enhance your main subject and to use light to create photos with depth and meaning.
Day 10: Manipulating Light:
From now on, “Manual Mode”, yay!: Now is the time to get creative with light. Even the worst lighting situations can be used to create interesting photos. Once you learn how to read light and set your camera up to create unique images, you’ll be well on your way to becoming the photographer you’ve always dreamed of becoming.
Day 11: Capturing the perfect Moment:
This is the one thing many newbie photographers aren’t particularly good at. Or how many times have you “just missed” a great photography opportunity? This lesson will teach you the skills required to make those “missed shots” a thing of the past.
Day 12: Backgrounds:
The World is your Backdrop. What is a perfect background setting for your main subjects? This lesson will teach you what to watch out for when setting the scene for your photos.
Day 13: Light as the Main Subject:
Some types of light are so pretty that they can brighten up even the most boring locations. You’ll learn how to capture light (without going blind) and how to use the setting to enhance its beauty.
Day 14: Creating Mood:
Create Photos that people look at for longer than a few seconds. Combining elements like light, weather or the seasons, your photographs will become more captivating. In this lesson you’ll learn how each element affects the photo's feel.
Day 15: Getting Arty in the Dark:
Learn cool tricks and hacks for creating stand-out photos after the sun has gone down.
Day 16: In and out of the Frame:
Another Biggie. Everything you need to know about composition. How to set up your shot. Learn where to place your main subjects to make them the obvious thing in the scene.
Day 17: Collecting and Gathering:
Accessories can bring boring scenes to life. In this lesson, you’ll receive a list of things you might want to collect and how to use them in your photography compositions.
Day 18: Photographing your Home and Everyday Life:
We spend 90% of our time indoors. Learn how to use your home for photography without turning it into a photo studio.
Day 19: Creating an Image Selection:
The first step in developing your unique photography style. In this lesson, I’ll teach you how to take a series of photos of the same subject in one session.
Day 20: Taking Photos for Instagram:
The photos you post on Instagram must stand out in the main feed. That means they have to tell the whole story within a tiny square - no easy deal. Day twenty will be the one that uncovers the secrets of why you haven’t gained all that many faithful followers (who you are friends with or related to) yet and what to do about it.
Day 21: Finding Mentors and Inspiration:
Learn from those who started before you. In this lesson, you’ll learn where to find inspiration and how to copy other photographers’ ideas in your own unique way.
Day 21: Recap:
You’ve made it - you’re a photographer! This lesson brings everything together that you’ve already learned and gives you further tips on how to create jaw-droppingly good images.
Extra Content:
Stack Focusing: an advanced method for creating tack-sharp images.
Creating the “Monet Look”
Succeeding on Instagram
Cropping and resizing
An extract from Day 7:
IN this lesson we delve into the anatomy of photos. You’ll learn how I decided how to capture this cluster of daisies in the way I did and also how these decisions affect the finished look.

“Thank you so much Dawn. Great lesson, so easy to understand 😊. It makes you want to learn more (I’ve just finished chapter 2” ) ❤️
-Kerstin R.

Hi, I’m Dawn Hänsch,
founder of Girls with Cameras and SOOP and also the creator of this beautiful workshop
I learned photography the hard way by ploughing through long technical blog posts, magazine articles and books. Each time believing I needed to understand it all before being able to pick up my camera and implement what I’d learned.
My 14 years of photography experience have taught me that I would have only needed a fraction of the information to create the jaw-dropping images I was aiming for.
I’d like the same for you. I want YOU to learn the easy way. I want YOU to be the “Girl with the Camera” on a mission to capture your world in beautiful images and having the knowledge to do just that.
Join me in “A Girl with a Camera - Learn Photography in 21 Days” and become that girl!
I can’t wait to see your future images and share your joy!
Dawn xx
