Let's say you're drawn to the picture on the left, which is incredibly minimalist. Why are you drawn to that image? Do you feel balanced today, or are you more tense and feel the need to let go of a few things? If you're drawn to this image, it's because you may be minimalistic-minded or need more minimalism in your life.
Grab your camera and try to take a similar photo with hardly anything in it. Does just the thought of taking that kind of photo feel foreign because there's not enough in the composition, or is it just what you need today to relieve yourself from the chaos of everyday life?
What about the other photo? How does it make you feel? Does it feel like you're falling or does it feel comforting because it contains so much detail?
How would it feel to take that particular photo today? Would the thought of taking this photo almost drive you crazy because there is too much going on? Does the thought of gathering so many props and looking for an ideal setting overwhelm you? Or does it feel like a challenge you can’t wait to begin?
Read through this lesson again and be mindful of how you feel today and how taking one of these photos might be exactly what you need to either fulfil you creatively, or to find balance.
Let’s recap:
You might feel drawn to the minimalist photo when your life is messy, or there’s too much going on.
A photo with more content is one you can create when you're feeling bored and need a challenge that fulfils you.
The contents of this workshop will help you reconnect with how you really feel and what you really like.
