“Setting the Scene”
LET'S SUMMARISE:
COLOURS:
Either they should flatter each other, or create a wonderful contrast.
Discreet leading lines are great for guiding the eye through the image towards the main subject.
If you want to photograph something from above (a flat lay, for example), then you have to pay attention to the background. In general, it is a good idea to combine natural motifs with natural backgrounds etc.
It's great if the colours of the main subject are repeated somewhere in the background.
PEOPLE:
If someone is a bit pale, (or a bit nervous because he/she is too much in focus), then you can simply integrate him/her into the environment. If someone is more outgoing, then a simple background will do.
Whether it's in front of a screen, indoors or outdoors, always make sure the hair and clothes stand out against the background.
